  • Wilton® food-crafting supplies:
    • Color Right™ Performance Color System (see Colors Tinted below)
    • 8"x2" Performance Pans™ Round Pan
    • 16"x10" Cooling Grid
    • Cake Leveler
    • 8" Cake Circles
    • White Ready-To-Use Decorator Icing — 4.5 lb. Tub
    • 9" Angled Spatula
    • 12" Disposable Decorating Bags
    • Cake Decorating Tip 1M (5 needed)
  • Favorite white cake recipe or mix (5 cups batter used)
  • Food-safe scissors

COLOR TINTS:

CAKE BATTER
Use Color Right base colors and QuickCount™ color formula to tint cake batter in the following shade:
- 5 cups Soft Pink (formula 502 [1 BK + 1 C + 1 P + 1 Y])

ICING
Use Color Right base colors and QuickCount color formulas to tint icing in the following shades:
• 2 cups Purple (formula 5215 [1 BR + 2 B + 5 C + 1 R])
• 2 cups Dark Pink (formula 514 [1 BK + 4 P + 5 P])
• 2 cups Green (formula 577 [2 BR + 1 B + 5 Y])
• 2 cups Soft Pink (formula 502 [1 BK + 1 C + 1 P + 1 Y])
• 2 cups Light Blue (formula 644 [1 BK + 1 B + 1 C])

DIRECTIONS:

1. Make layered cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Tint batter following color formula above. Fill each pan with 1 cup of batter. Bake five 8" cake layers, and allow to cool.
2. Tint decorator icing following color formulas above.
3. Level, fill and stack 8" layers on a cake circle for a 5-layer cake, 6" high.
4. Decorate cake. Use spatula and light blue icing to ice top of cake smooth. Use spatula to make swirl pattern on top. Use tip 1M, cut disposable decorating bag and tinted icing to pipe two lines around the bottom of the cake starting with purple. Repeat with other tinted icing.
