SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • White Model Magic
  • Floral Picks
  • Wire Cutters
  • Clay Roller
  • Acrylic Paint (desired colors)
  • Detail Brush

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Roll a piece of model magic into a ball. Flatten and roll into a circle approximately 3-4" in diameter. You can adjust the amount of clay until you find the amount you need to create the final size circle you want. Once you have that amount repeat for each pressed disc.
  2. Once the clay is rolled out, lay a piece of floral onto the clay and roll over again with the roller to leave an impression into the clay.
  3. Allow to dry as instructed on the packaging.
  4. Paint in the details with acrylic paint.
  5. Allow to dry thoroughly before displaying.

JOANN HACKS:

  • If you are planning on hanging your pressed botanical add a hole above the pressing with a skewer before the clay dries.
  • Use faux or real floral, leaves or sticks to make impressions. If using natural materials, note that dirt, pigment, leaves, and petals might remain in your clay.
  • Paint them or leave them white for a clean look.
