Clear Vinyl Backpack

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 1/2 yd - Vinyl
• 1 - 26" zipper
• 1 - 7" zipper
• 4 - 1" D rings
• 1 pkg. - extra wide binding
• 2 yds - webbing for strap
• Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

(1/2" seam allowance)
1. To print the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above).
2. Cut 2 - patterns from vinyl.
3. Cut 2 - 2 1/2" x 27" for sides of zipper.
4. Cut 1 - 5 1/2" x 23 for gusset.
5. Encase the long edges of the 2 1/2" strip with binding and stitch in place.
6. Sew the two 2 1/2" strips to both sides of zipper and stitch close to zipper teeth.
7. Sew the zipper strip to the gusset strip.
8. Encase the short end gusset strip and zipper in seam binding and stitch.
9. Cut 2 straps 20" long and one 9" long.
10. Make a loop and pin the 9" webbing to center top of back having ends side by side.
11. Insert one end of strap into 2 - D rings, fold under 1/2" and stitch close to ring.
12. Repeat for second strap.
13. Pin end of strap to both sides of folded loop.
14. Cut 2 straps 20" long for bottom straps.
15. Fold under ends 1/2" and again 1/2" and stitch.
16. Pin to bottom sides of back.
17. Pin zipper and gusset section to back of bag stitch.
18. Cut 1- 2" x 9", 1- 7" long x 9" for front pocket.
19. Encase the 9" sides of these two strips in binding.
20. Sew to right side of zipper.
21. Pin to front center of bag.
22. Stitch onto front with a 1/4" seam..
23. Open zipper and with RST, pin back to front and stitch with 1/2" seam.
24. Turn.
