Climbing Leaves Knit Blanket

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Bernat® Symphony™ (7.9 oz/225 g; 309 yds/282 m), Pebbles 6 balls
• Size U.S. 10 1/2 (6.5 mm) circular knitting needle 29" [74 cm] long or size needed to obtain gauge.
• Piece of cardboard 5 1/2" [14 cm] wide for tassels.


• MEASUREMENTS: Approx 46 x 60" [119 x 152.5 cm].
• GAUGE: 14 sts and 18 rows = 4" (10 cm) in stocking st.

DIRECTIONS:

Cast on 157 sts Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows:

Knit 2 rows (garter st), noting first row is WS.

Knit 2 rows (garter st).
Cast off knitwise (WS).
Pin to measurements on a flat surface. Cover with damp cloths and leave cloths to dry.
Tassels (make 23): Wind yarn around a piece of cardboard 5½" [14 cm] wide 20 times. Tie through loops securely at one end. Cut loops on opposite end. Wrap yarn 3 times around Tassel 1" [2.5 cm] down from tied end. Fasten securely. Sew Tassels (11 on each side), at each 'point' along top and bottom edges of Afghan and 1 Tassel in each corner.
