SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 24" x 24" Stretched Canvas
- Painter's Tape
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Acrylic Paint
- Brushes
- Bone Folder (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
- Tape around all edges of the canvas.
- Tape off first large block of color - make a small pencil mark 8 inches up each side of the canvas. Tape off the 8 inch section.
- Apply first paint color to taped-off 8 inch section and allow to dry and apply a second coat.
- Once dry, pull off the tape around the first block of color and begin to measure the striped lines.
- Beginning from the bottom color block, measure out 1 inch and mark with pencil, then do 1/2 inch and mark with pencil, and continue all the way up the canvas until you have a total of eleven 1 inch spaces and ten 1/2 inch spaces.
- Tape around the 1/2 inch spaces to make your ten stripes. Apply paint, allow to dry, apply second coat, allow to dry, and pull off tape.
JOANN HACKS:
- Use bone folder to press down the edges of the painter's tape to ensure very crisp lines.
- Further clean-up can be done on all edges by applying white paint over any imperfections.
