Use Color Right base colors and QuickCount color formulas to tint icing in the following shades:
Bright and Bold Yellow (formula 109): 2 cups icing + 2 O + 10 Y
Bright and Bold Orange (formula 151): 2 cups icing + 2 R + 16 O + 16 Y
Reserve 2 cups icing white
Cake serves 12.
Bake and cool cake layers in pan set.
Tint icing following color formulas above. Prepare three disposable bags with tip 1A. Fill bags separately with yellow, orange and white icing.
Place one cake layer on cake circle. Pipe a circle in yellow around the edge. Pipe a circle in orange next to the yellow circle. Pipe in center in white icing. Top with next cake layer. Repeat piping circles of icing and stacking layers.
Place cake on turntable. Use tip 1A and yellow icing to pipe a line 1-1/2" wide on bottom third of cake. Pipe a tip 1A line in orange, 1-1/2" wide, at center of cake side. Cover cake top and remaining side with white icing. Smooth top and sides.
Prepare three disposable decorating bags with tip 5. Fill bags separately with yellow, orange and white icing. Pipe yellow vertical lines, 1" apart, on yellow section of cake. Pipe orange zigzags on orange section. Pipe white dots on white section. Position cake on cake plate.
