TRUCK BED:

  • 6yds Fabric (for 60" x 78" truck bed)
  • 1 1/2yds 1/4" Elastic
  • 1 1/4yd Vertical Stripe Flannel
  • 1/4yd Yellow Flannel
  • 3/8yd Dotted Flannel
  • 2 7/8yd Aqua Flannel
  • 45"x 60" Quilt Batting
  • Basic Sewing Supplies

DIRECTIONS:

FOR FLEECE THROW

  1. Trim selvages off.
  2. With wrong sides together, layer and pin the two fleece pieces together.
  3. Starting on one side, roll the edges to front 1/2" and 1/2" again and pin in place.
  4. Continue around until all sides of been pinned in place.
  5. Zigzag stitch edge of fold or straight stitch around outside.

FOR TRUCK BED FITTED SHEET

Size: 60" x 78" x 6" deep
  1. Measure 78" length plus 12" for depth and 2" for hem/pocket. (92")
  2. Cut second piece 92" in length and cut into 2 pieces 92" x 9". These will be attached to sides so that the sheet will measure 92" long by 78" wide.
  3. Sew the two 9" pieces to sides with 1/2" seam.
  4. Cut out 7" square at all 4 corners.
  5. With right sides together sew corner seams.
  6. Measure out from these corner seams 18" on each side and place marker.
  7. Fold seam under all around 1" and pin.
  8. Stitch seam/casing around stopping at markings at corner leaving an opening of about 1". This will be for the elastic to be inserted at corners.
  9. When you have stitched all the way around, cut elastic into 4 - 12" lengths.
  10. At each corner insert elastic placing a pin to hold one end while you pull elastic to next opening in corner.
  11. Starting at folded edge, stitch over elastic a few times to hold in place.
  12. Stitch opening closed.
  13. Repeat to finish all 4 corners.

FOR THE PILLOWS

  1. 2 each - 18", 24" and 12" x 18"
  2. Cut 2 each - 19" x 19" for 18" pillow - 25" x 25" for 24" pillow and 13" x 19" for 12" x 18" pillow
  3. Cut 2 each 19" x 14" for 18" pillow - 25" x 16" for 24" pillow and 13" x 14" for 12" x 18" pillow
  4. For each pillow top, with right sides together, pin trim to sides. Sew in place using a zipper foot for the pompoms.
  5. For back of pillow, fold under 1/4" press and fold again 1/4" press along long side of each of the two pieces.
  6. Top stitch.
  7. Layer these pieces, overlapping to match the size of front of pillow.
  8. With right sides together, pin back to front.
  9. Using a 1/2" seam stitch around outside of pillow.
  10. Turn and insert pillow form.

NOTE: Read all instructions before cutting and sewing. Sew with accurate 1/4" seams. WOF is width of fabric. LOF is length of fabric.

  1. From stripe fabric cut a strip 7 1/2" x WOF. Trim to 7 1/2" x 42". Cut a piece 32 1/2" x WOF. Trim this piece to 32 1/2" x 42".
  2. From yellow cut a 5 1/2" x WOF strip. Trim to 5 1/2" x 42".
  3. From dotted fabric cut a 10 1/2" x WOF strip. Trim to 10 1/2" x 42".
  4. Cut a 5 1/2" x WOF from aqua fabric. Trim to 5 1/2" x 42". Use remainder of aqua for the backing/binding.
  5. Sew strips together as shown in Diagram 1. Press.
  6. Trim batting to same size as quilt top.
  7. Prepare backing and trim to a 46" x 65" piece. Press.
  8. You are ready to do a rolled edge binding. Center batting and quilt top onto backing. Pin or baste together.
  9. Quilt as desired taking care to stop stitches before you get into backing. Backstitch at the start and stop of your stitching.
  10. Carefully trim backing so it extends 1" from quilt top on all four sides.
  11. Fold the 1" in half and line up to the raw edge of the top and batting. Fold once again so it folds up into the quilt top. Use pins to hold in place.
  12. Follow Diagram 2 for mitered corner instructions.
  13. Stitch around quilt binding close to the edge. When you get to a corner keep needle down, raise presser foot and pivot to stitch down the next side.
  14. Quilt will finish at 42" x 59".
