SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Cricut® (optional)
- Card stock (coordinating patterns/colors)
- Clear vinyl
- Glue stick
- Sequins
- Marker
DIRECTIONS:
- Use one of the provided Cricut card templates or create your own. If you don't have a Cricut, you can still make a basic confetti window design by folding a piece of card stock and cutting it to the desired card size. Cut a window in the front middle of the card. (Make sure to leave a border no smaller than 1/2" around the edge to have room to glue the vinyl in place.)
- Once you have the window of your design cut out, whether you used the Cricut or cut your own, lay the card on your work surface face down. Cut a piece of clear vinyl to cover the cut out and leave an extra 1/2" to 1" all the way around. Lay the vinyl on the card to cover the cut outs and make sure all the window cut outs are covered with at least a 1/2" border around the edge.
- Add a line of glue around the edge of the clear vinyl and glue it in place.
- Add sequins to the middle of the vinyl (you don't want to add too many or they won't move freely).
- Cut a piece of card stock the same size as the front panel of your card. Choose a coordinating pattern or color, this card stock will be visible as the back of the window cut out behind the sequins.
- Add a line of glue around the edge and glue in place. This will hold the sequins in place and add another pattern to the card design. If you want to see through to the other side of the card you can use a second piece of vinyl as the backer, but remember any interior writing will be visible from the outside if you use the vinyl as the backer.
- Add optional embellishments using card stock, markers & stickers.
Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:
- When creating a template, make sure to figure in the total length of the card when open, so after it is cut out you can fold it in half.
