  1. Attach bias tape piping to sides and bottom of the Front Piece, Back Piece, Flap piece, and the two pockets. Make sure that the raw edge of the bias tape piping is lined up with the raw edge of the cotton fabric.
  2. Create the main outer body: With right sides together sew the sides onto the front and back pieces. You may wish to use the zipper foot for your sewing machine to get the seam flush against the piping.
  3. Then, again with right sides together, sew the bottom piece to the front and sides. Clip excess fabric off of sewn corners. Turn right side out.
  4. Create the canvas lining: Sew sides to the front and back pieces. Sew bottom to the front, back, and sides. Clip excess fabric off of sewn corners. Press any seams with iron as needed.
  5. Create the pockets: With right sides together, sew pocket sides to pockets. Once again, you may wish to use the zipper foot.
  6. With right sides together, sew the canvas pocket sides to the canvas pockets.
  7. With right sides together, nest the canvas linings inside the cotton pockets and sew all the way across the tops. Flip right-side out and press top crease with iron. Fold 1/4" in around the sides and bottoms, pressing with iron.
  8. Attach the magnetic snaps centered about 1 1/2" from the tops of the pockets.
  9. Center the two pockets on the front of the bag and topstitch in place around sides and bottom.
  10. Place canvas bag lining overtop of the cotton outer bag with the pockets, right sides together. Sew around front but leave back and sides open. Turn right side out and press seam.
  11. Place remaining canvas piece inside the open back of the bag, and pull forward to cover pockets until it's about an inch or two below the magnetic snaps on the pockets. On the canvas, mark the places where you feel the snaps through the canvas. Then, attach the corresponding snap pieces in through those markings.
  12. Sew canvas lining onto cotton flap, right sides together, leaving the long side opposite the snaps open. Clip excess material off of corners and turn right side out.
  13. Attach magnetic snaps together and tuck the rest of the flap into the open back of the bag. Fold in the raw edges of the back of the bag, press with iron, and topstitch.
  14. Create the strap: Match a long side of strap lining to a long side of strap, place on the wrong side of strap and pin in place. Fold strap lengthwise right sides together and sew down long raw side. Use a safety pin to pull strap right side out, and press with iron.
  15. Place one edge of the strap into an open side of the bag, center, fold in raw edges of bag and topstitch in place. Reinforce bag strap by sewing an X over top.
  16. Attach slide buckle to the other end of the strap. Insert end of strap into the last open side of the bag and repeat steps as for the first strap.
  17. Create the top loop: Match a long side of Top Loop Lining to long side of Top Loop, place on the wrong side of Top Loop, pin in place. Fold Top Loop lengthwise right sides together and sew down the long raw side. Use a safety pin to pull the strap right side out, and press with iron. Fold each end in 1" and press with iron.
  18. Find the top of the bag on the flap, and center the top loop on that spot. Push the loop ends inward until you have a nice sized loop popping upward, and secure the ends in place onto the strap with Xs sewn on both sides.
