SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 100% Cotton fabric (3/4 yd)
- 100% Coordinating cotton fabric (1/4 yd) for pocket and tie
- Batting
- Basic sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut two 18" x 18" squares of cotton fabric.
- Cut two 18" x 7" rectangles of coordinating fabric for pocket.
- Cut batting 18" x 24 1/2".
- Use 1/2" seam allowances unless otherwise noted.
- Sew each pocket piece to one edge of each square and press to make 2 rectangles 18"x 24 1/2".
- Lay batting piece on flat surface and lay one rectangle right side up on batting.
- With right sides together, lay other rectangle on top of first rectangle and batting.
- Pin and sew around edges leaving a 4" opening to turn.
- Turn right side out and press.
- Topstitch along edge with opening to finish edge and close opening.
- Fold pocket up and pin at sides.
- Sew around entire tool roll to finish edges and create pocket for tools.
- Determine size and layout of pockets for tools, mark and stitch to create pockets.
- Measure 6" from top of tool roll and mark a straight line across to topstitch.
- Create a 40" bias tie to be used for roll tie.
- Attach middle of tie to tool roll just above pocket, using a zigzag stitch to secure.
