DIRECTIONS:
STITCH EXPLANATION:dc2tog (dc 2 sts together) (Yarn over, insert hook in next st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.
NOTES:
Afghan is worked in one piece from one corner diagonally across to the opposite corner.
Increases are worked at the beginning of every row until about half of the yarn has been used. You will have reached the widest diagonal row of the Afghan. Then decreases are worked at the beginning of every row to opposite corner of the Afghan.

Ch 4.
Increase Section
Row 1: Work 3 dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped ch count as dc) - you will have 4 dc in this row.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, 2 dc in first st, dc in next 2 sts, dc in top of beg ch-3 - 6 dc.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, 2 dc in first st, dc in each st across working last dc in top of beg ch-3 - 8 dc.
Rep Row 3 until almost half of the yarn has been used. The side edge of the Afghan should measure about 38 in. (96.5 cm).
Do not fasten off.
Decrease Section
Row 1: Ch 3 (does not count as a st), turn, sk first st, dc2tog, dc in each st across working last dc in top of beg ch-3 - 2 sts were decreased in this row.
Row 2: Ch 3 (does not count as a st), turn, sk first st, dc2tog, dc in each st across leaving beg ch-3 unworked - 2 sts decreased.
Rep Row 2 until there are only 4 sts remaining.
Last Row: Ch 3, turn, sk first st, dc2tog, dc in next st; leave beg ch-3 unworked - 2 sts remain.
Fasten off.
FINISHING:
