• 2 safety eyes, 15mm diameter

DIRECTIONS:

STITCH EXPLANATON:
sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) (Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.
NOTES:
Cat is made from 9 pieces: Head, Body, Tail, 4 Paws, and 2 Ears.
Because pieces are sewn together, the Cat is not suitable for young children.
Head and Body of Cat are stuffed.
Exact gauge is not important for this project. Work tightly so that stuffing does not through spaces between stitches.
HEAD:
Ch 2.
Rnd 1 (RS): Work 9 sc in 2nd ch from hook; do not join, work in continuous rnds (spiral).
Place marker in last st made to indicate end of rnd. Move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - you will have 18 sc in this rnd.
Rnd 3: *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 27 sc.
Rnd 4: *Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 36 sc.
Rnd 5: *Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 45 sc.
Rnd 6: *Sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 54 sc.
Rnd 7: *Sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 63 sc.
Rnds 8-15: Sc in each st around around.
Following package directions, attach safety eyes between Rnds 5 and 6, about 6 sts apart.
Rnd 16: *Sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around - 54 sc.
Rnd 17: *Sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around - 45 sc.
Rnd 18: *Sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around - 36 sc.
Rnd 19: *Sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around - 27 sc.
Stuff Head firmly with fiberfill stuffing.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing Head to Body.
BODY:
Ch 92.
Rnd 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped ch count as first dc) and in each ch across; join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 to form a circle - 90 dc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each st around; join wth sl st in top of beg ch-3.
Rep Rnd 2 until piece measures about 21" from beg.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing.
TAIL:
Ch 4.
Rnd 1 (RS): Work 7 dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped ch do not count as a st); do not join, work in continuous rnds (spiral).
Place marker in last st made to indicate end of rnd. Move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in first dc, hdc in next st, dc in next 5 sts - 7 sts.
Rnds 3-8: Dc in each st around.
Rnd 9: Dc in next 5 sts, hdc in next st, sc in last st.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing Tail to Body.
PAWS (make 4)
Ch 4.
Rnd 1 (RS): Work 9 dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped ch do not count as a st); join with sl st in first dc - 9 dc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same st as joining sl st, 2 dc in each st around; join with sl st in first dc - 18 dc.
Rnds 3 and 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each st around; join with sl st in first dc.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing Paws to Body.
EARS (make 2)
Ch 2.
Row 1 (RS): Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook - 2 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each st - 4 sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in last st - 6 sc.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing Ears to Body.
FINISHING:
Note: Refer to photograph when sewing pieces together.
Sew one end of Body closed. Stuff Body with pillow, then sew remaining end of Body closed.
Sew Ears to Head.
Sew Paws, Head and Tail to Body.
Weave in ends.
