Nice craftThis was given to our six year old daughter for Christmas. This craft is very time consuming and was too difficult for her. I did most of the work. She helped wrap a tiny bit of yarn and unravel some of the tail and mane. I had to tie all of the knots for her.
You have to assemble the cardboard horses before starting. There are 44 steps to follow. It’s best to have a yard stick on hand. You will be cutting 11 yards, 7 yards.... of yarn. It’s kind of hard to wrap the yarn around upper legs because the other legs get in the way. The little double sided pieces of square tape are hard to peel the paper off of too.
Then there is the mane... They want you to braid 60” of thread (which actually is way more length than you need) until the braid is 16” long. The thread constantly gets tangled while braiding. Unraveling the yarn pieces for hair takes a long time too. The directions have you cut more yarn then needed for all steps so you don’t have to worry about running short.
The unicorn turned out cute and my daughter loves it! We still have to do the small unicorn... This craft is very time consuming and more of a watch mom do your craft for you activity for younger kids. I think this would be great for older kids. It is rated ages 8 and up.
