SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Boxes
  • Cardstock & lightweight scrapbooking papers
  • Gold bows
  • Gold foil note cards
  • Ruler & stylus
  • Punches: “love” & border punch
  • Corner rounder
  • Glue stick
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scissors & scallop shears
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cover boxes or box lids with cardstock or paper. If using cardstock, the folds are best made with a ruler and a stylus, and then creasing. Cut corners with scissors. If the box is attractive, simply glue panels of scallop-edged cardstock to each surface. Small jewelry boxes can be covered with note card papers. Gold box is covered with self-adhesive paper cut to size.
  2. Cut and attach a strip of paper around the box or lid, if desired.
  3. To print the pattern, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above). Use the pattern to cut out the paper bow loops and tails. Cut a small strip of paper to wrap around the center of the loops. Glue the loops at the center. Glue the loops at the center to the tails; wrap the small strip around both. Glue to the package.
  4. The pattern can be reduced or enlarged or modified for small variations in the look. The border punch can be used on strips of paper to add lacy layers.
  5. Card #1. Cut a rectangle of white paper with gold dots, smaller than the note card. Round the corners. Attach to a slightly larger rectangle of pink cardstock, and round the corners. Attach to front of card. Punch “love” from tan paper and glue to the center front of card.
  6. Card #2. Cut off the bottom of the front flap of the card and border punch the edges. Cut a rectangle of pink cardstock to fit inside the card and border punch the edges. Attach the pink panel inside the card, so it is visible below the front flap. Punch “love” from pink cardstock and glue it to the bottom right of the front flap.
  7. Card #3. Cut a panel of ivory cardstock to fit the front of the card. Border punch the bottom and attach to the front of the card, leaving 3/4” of the card front panel showing.
  8. Cut a tag shape from pink cardstock and border punch the bottom edge. Punch “love” from contrasting paper and glue it to the tag. Attach tag to the card and put a gold bow at the narrow end of the tag.
