Crayon Aprons

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 1 yd solid quilt fabric
  • 1 yd black quilt fabric
  • 1 spool matching thread
  • 1 package jumbo rickrack
  • 2 yds black twill 1" trim
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Simplicity® pattern 1936

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Sew the body of apron according to pattern instructions.
  2. Instead of sewing straps with fabric, use the black twill trim to make the loop around the neck and the ties around the waist. See pattern measurements for lengths.
  3. Cut two pieces of black quilt fabric 5" tall by width of apron.
  4. Fold under all edges 1/4".
  5. Place black stripes on apron to look like a crayon.
  6. Pin and top stitch on.
  7. Cut rickrack to width of apron.
  8. Glue to center of black stripes.
