Intermediate Weekend Project

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Cricut Explore
  • Cricut Maker
  • Assorted Cardstock Colors/Textures

  • Glue Dot Tape
  • Assorted Washi Tape
  • Assorted Twine
  • Stamp and Pad Gold
  • Cricut Scoring Tool
  • Leather fabric
  • Fabric Glue
  • Basswood
  • Tape
  • Cricut Mats

DIRECTIONS:

    Geometric Fabric Card
  1. Insert rectangle shape and adjust size to 6 x 6 inches.
  2. Insert rectangle shape and adjust size to 12 x 12 inches.
  3. Insert score line and stretch it down 6 inches.
  4. Highlight score line and rectangle and Align both Centered Horizontally and Centered Vertically.
  5. Attach score line and Rectangle.
  6. Insert Square Shape and adjust size to 2x2 inches.
  7. Insert Score line and change to a cut line.
  8. Adjust score line diagonally across 2 inch x 2 inch square.
  9. Highlight and Slice.
  10. Duplicate the new sliced square 4 times and change color to blue.(8 triangles total).
  11. Insert square and adjust to 2 x 2 inches.
  12. Insert 2 score lines and adjust diagonally inside square to make and X inside the square.
  13. Change score lines to a cut.
  14. Highlight and slice.
  15. Duplicate new sliced square 4 times and change color to red (16 mini triangles total).
  16. Insert 1 square and adjust size to 2 x 2 inch and change color to white.
  17. Cut using Cricut Explore.
  18. Place triangles onto base 6x6 inch piece of cardstock starting with the outside edges working your way in.
  19. Use foam mounts to attach triangles onto 6 x 6 cardstock base.
  20. Attach to 12 x 12 inch folded card with glue dot tape.

    Christmas Tree Card
  1. Insert rectangle and adjust size to 10 x 7 inches.
  2. Insert score line and stretch it down 7 inches.
  3. Highlight score line and rectangle and Align both Centered Horizontally and Centered Vertically.
  4. Attach score line and Rectangle.
  5. Insert square and adjust to 5 x 7 inches.
  6. Insert tree image.
  7. Place tree image over 5 x 7 inch square and slice.
  8. Cut with the Cricut Explore.
  9. Attach Christmas tree cut base to striped 10 x 7 folded card.
  10. Make mini bows with twine.
  11. Glue onto trees.

    Gold Stamp Card
  1. Insert 4 x 6 inch base card appliqué in images.
  2. Insert rectangle and adjust to 10 x 7 inches.
  3. Insert score line and stretch it down 7 inches.
  4. Highlight scoreline and rectangle and Align both Centered Horizontally and Centered Vertically.
  5. Attach score line and Rectangle.
  6. Cut with the Cricut Explore.
  7. Use gold stamp and pad to stamp 4 x 6 inch appliqué.
  8. Place washi tape on card.
  9. Attach 4 x 6 inch base to folded 10 x 7 inch card.

    Reindeer Tag
  1. Insert tag image.
  2. Adjust size to approx 3 x 4 inches.
  3. Insert geometric deer image and adjust image into tag image space.
  4. Cut with the Cricut Maker using basswood for the tag.
  5. Cut the deer twice one with black and one red (for nose).
  6. After cut, attach pieces to tag and add washi tape around sides and twine into tag circle.

    K Initial Tag
  1. Insert Tag image and duplicate 3 times.
  2. Adjust first image to approx 2 x 3 inches and the other two a bit smaller so they fit all on top of each other.
  3. Insert Letter K text and Adjust K size to fit onto tag image.
  4. Change font to belwe std medium.
  5. Cut with Cricut Maker.
  6. Attach using fabric glue and twine in the tag holder.

    Diamond 3D Tag
  1. Insert 3D 8-side geometric shape so that it's approx 3 x 3 triangle sizes.
  2. Insert Triangle and adjust size to approx 2 x 2 inch.
  3. Insert text box and type to: from: change font a perfect day.
  4. Change colors to 4 different colors; 1 solid, 1 shape, cut out.
  5. Cut with the Cricut Explore.
  6. Hot glue twine to the tip of the inside of the geometric shape before starting to glue it together.
  7. Use glue dot tape for ends to attach and make geometric shape.
  8. Use glue got tape to put on triangle colors.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • Attach basswood to mats using tape on all 4 sides
  • Don't attach layers before using slice option (slice will only work for 2 single layers)
  • Cut foam mounts in half for smaller letter placements
