Cricut Focus on the Good Wood Canvas

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Computer or smartphone
• Cricut Explore
• Cricut standard grip mat
• Cricut assorted colored vinyl, permanent is best but removable matte will also work
• Cricut weeder tool
• Cricut transfer tape light grip
• Cricut scraper
• Blank wooden canvas
• White paint
• Paintbrushes
• Washcloth

DIRECTIONS:

1. Measure the inside of your wood canvas (7.5"x 7.5" for this design.)
2. Get white paint, brushes and damp washcloth ready.
3. Apply white paint with the brush to the wood canvas.
4. Wipe wet washcloth over white paint to get a white wash look on your wood.
5. Set aside, and allow 6-12 hours to completely dry.
6. Open design space.
7. Insert word art and image art design.
8. Change colors of design and words to match the color of vinyl.
9. Size your design according to your wood canvas size.
10. Make sure each section of color design or wood is attached.
11. Cut with the Cricut and follow on-screen instructions.
12. Weed your design, and place transfer tape sticky side down into the top of your design.
13. Use scraper tool over top to make sure your design will stick to your transfer tape.
14. Peel up transfer tape and you design should be stuck to it.
15. Place your design sticky side down onto your wood canvas.
16. Use scraper to assure the vinyl is stuck and peel away the transfer tape.
17. Repeat until all layers of your design are applied.
