Intermediate Weekend Project

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Cricut® Machine
  • Cricut standard grip mat
  • Assorted cardstock in various colors, textures & lengths
  • Hot glue/hot glue sticks
  • Cricut spatula
  • Twine
  • Washi tape
  • Foam mounts
  • Needle & Thread

DIRECTIONS:

    Deer Tag

  1. Insert Oval Tag "Joys of the Season".
  2. Hide the green oval using the layers panel.
  3. Insert deer image called "Reindeer Silhouette".
  4. Size reindeer onto tag.
  5. Select reindeer and tag and SLICE.
  6. Cut with the Cricut.

Wreath Box

  1. Insert Wreath Box image "Merry and Bright".
  2. Re-size to a smaller box to 20"x 20" total size for all box materials on canvas.
  3. Cut with the Cricut.

Pine Tree 3D tag

  1. Insert pine tree image and size approximately 2"x 3".
  2. Insert score line and center it horizontally over the image.
  3. Attach score line and tree.
  4. Duplicate image.
  5. Cut with the Cricut and assemble with paper, gluing one half of the tree to the other half.
  6. Glue to tag.
  7. Green cut out Bow.
  8. Insert Marigold image.
  9. Hide the leaves using the layers panel.
  10. Cut with the Cricut.
  11. Lay flat and fold each end to the center to meet and glue.
  12. Pinch the center and wrap with twine to form a bow.

Green Mini Bow

  1. Insert image "Short Bow Topper Pretty Packages".
  2. Cut with the Cricut.
  3. Assemble using hot glue.
  4. Glue two of the long pieces together, folding in half the circle on each side.
  5. Place bow shape over top and use smallest cut piece to wrap around center of bow.

Pom Pom Bow

  1. Insert "Pom Pom Bow" image.
  2. Resize to about 9" - 10" long.
  3. Cut with Cricut.
  4. Using tweezers, pinch the bottom edge and start wrapping around until it's fully wrapped. At this point, glue the end down and add the second paper strip onto the wrapped one.
  5. Once glued, use your fingers to peel the fringe outward.

Party Bow Gift Wrap

  1. Insert "Party Bow Gift Wrap".
  2. Change settings to regular blade not curved blade.
  3. Cut with the Cricut.
  4. Pinch each end with the tweezers and wrap around tightly. Do this for all strips.
  5. Stretch coils out and glue according to a square paper base.

Red Shiny Bow

  1. Insert "Cute Little Bow, JGoode".
  2. Cut with the Cricut.
  3. Fold longest strips first, connecting dot to dot ends.
  4. Once you have both strips folded end to end and glued with hot glue, connect each of the gluing dots together.
  5. Attach bow ends with glue and wrap with smallest paper strip around center of bow.

Snow Flake Fan Bow

  1. Insert "Fan" image.
  2. Insert "Snowflake" image.
  3. Cut with the Cricut.
  4. Assemble fan by folding accordion style - you will have to do this four times and connect all four together to form one long accordion paper and turning into a circle.
  5. Hot glue snowflake bow on top.

Candy Cane Tag

  1. Place pre-made tag on the Cricut mat.
  2. Insert "Candy Cane Heart" image.
  3. Size according to the tag size, about 1" across.
  4. Once you go to the cut screen you will have to drag your candy cane image to the place on the mat that the tag is so it will be centered when cut out.
  5. Cut with Cricut.
  6. Cover tag with washi tape.

Sleigh Tag

  1. Insert "Sleigh Image Seasonal Sampler".
  2. Insert Songbird Tag.
  3. Hide the bird image using the layers panel.
  4. Place sleigh over tag and size appropriately in the center .
  5. Highlight and Slice.
  6. Cut with the Cricut.

Snowflake/Santa/Greenery Tag

  1. Insert tag image and cut 2 with the Cricut. Colors can vary.
  2. Insert multiple "Snowflake" images, "Santa" image and "Greenery" image.
  3. Place over tags for sizing.
  4. Cut with Cricut and make sure to follow color guide. There will be a lot of steps to cutting the small parts of the Santa.
  5. Assemble Santa, Snowflakes, and Greenery and place with glue over tags.
  6. Option: buy Santa, snowflake or greenery stickers to place on top of Cricut cut tags. Use foam mounts.

All Ribbon

  1. Cut strips of paper about 2" - 3" wide and 12" - 24" long.
  2. Using Cricut or stamp, cut out Design from along one side of the ribbon. Cut out from both sides of another ribbon paper strip.
  3. Using thread, stick one strip of ribbon paper alongside another.
  4. Glue two ribbon strips together and place decorative piece in the middle.

Green and Silver Bows

  1. Cut two strips 4" long.
  2. Fold over and glue. Do the same for the other, but loop through before gluing.
  3. Cut four 4" strips and cut four 7" strips.
  4. Fold 7" strips in half and glue all to the bottom, forming a square look.
  5. Fold all four 4" and glue together in the open space.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • Give yourself a lot of paper color and texture options.
  • When using Slice, you can only slice 2 layers at once.
  • When using a store-bought tag on a Cricut mat, make sure you move your cut-out image to the appropriate placement at cut time so it matches up.
