NOTE: Use 1/2" seam allowance
PREPARING THE FABRIC:
- 1 yd Print fabric for pillow
- 1/2 yd Solid contrast fabric for monogram and piping
- 1 pkg Ultra Hold Heat-N-Bond
- Polyester fiber - fill
- 1 1/4 yd Cotton cording
- Matching thread
- Basic sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
NOTE: Use 1/2" seam allowance
PREPARING THE FABRIC:
- From print fabric cut 2 13" H x 25" W for pillow front and back.
- From solid fabric cut strips 1 1/2" wide on the diagonal to make at least 75" for cording cover; sew strips together at the ends and press the seams.
- Prepare the solid fabric for cutting letters by fusing Heat-n-bond ultra hold onto the back side of the fabric following the manufacturer's instructions. Place onto a Cricut® fabric mat, with the right side of the fabric facing up.
- Use Cricut Design Space software to create letters in the font of your choice and to the size you would like them to appear on your pillow.
- When you click "Make It," choose medium weight cotton as your material and load the prepared Cricut mat.
- Follow manufacturer's directions and fuse the cut letters onto one of the fabric pieces you will be using to make your pillow.
- Straight stitch around edge of letters, or hand embroider.
- Take the solid color fabric you prepared for the cording of the pillow, and fold long strip in half around cording and baste to front of pillow to create piping.
- With RST, stitch front pillow fabric to back pillow fabric, leaving an opening for turning.
- Clip corners, and turn RS out.
- Stuff pillow and slipstitch opening closed.
