Beginner Under 1 Hour
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Cricut Maker, Explore, or Joy machine
  • Cricut white permanent vinyl
  • Cricut transfer tape
  • Cricut standard grip mat
  • Spice mix or sauce

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Open Design Space® and use the Text tool to create the type you would like displayed. The font used in this project is Autolova. The space between the letters has been decreased to -.7 in this project.
  2. This project also uses images from Cricut’s image library.
  3. Hamburger: #M83809D8
    Spatula: #M14284EF3
    Grill: #MB534578
    Flame: #MF0013

  4. To create a line of dots, make a circle using the shape tool and duplicate it to create as many dots in a row as you would like. Select all of the dots and then select "attach" to make them one shape.
  5. To create slanted words, rotate your text slightly counter-clockwise, then unlock the text and warp it by pulling it downward on the left side. Lock the text again when you're finished slanting the words.
  6. After making each decal design, you should weld the letters of your words and attach the entire design using the "attach" function in Design Space. Then size the design to fit in the planned area of your jar.
  7. Click Make It when you're ready to cut.
  8. Follow the prompts in Design Space to cut the images from the vinyl. Remove the unneeded pieces of vinyl using a Weeder tool. It is usually easiest to move from the inside out when weeding. Use Transfer Tape and your Scraper to apply your vinyl design to your project. Make sure surfaces you plan to adhere to are clean and dry.

JOANN HACKS:
  • Measure the size of the space on the jar that you would like covered with the decal.
