Cricut Stocking

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Cricut Explore Air™ 2
  • Computer or tablet
  • Stocking
  • Rit® Dye color of choice
  • Cricut® heat transfer vinyl
  • Cricut standard mat
  • Weeder tool
  • EasyPress™ or iron
  • Rubber bands

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Follow directions on Rit dye for approx water amount per dye amount to use.
  2. Soak stocking with salt water or soda ash.
  3. Twist stocking up and tie it up twisted, with rubber bands.
  4. Soak rubber band stocking.
  5. Break rubber bands and let stocking air dry.
  6. Press stocking or use an iron.
  7. Open design space and insert the snowflake border image #M3CB29. Duplicate the border and weld the two borders together. Size it to the width of your stocking. At this point you may choose to add a name or another design to your stocking.
  8. Cut out the snowflake border onto Cricut Everyday iron-on vinyl in the color of your choice. You may also choose to cut out a thin line to place above or below the snowflake border.
  9. Press using an easy press or iron, follow Cricut EasyPress guide for temperature depending on your stocking material.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Pre-wet stocking with salt water OR soda ash.
  • Use gloves when dying.
  • Press wrinkles from stocking before doing paint and iron-on name.
  • Mirror your text before cutting.
