Crochet Cat Turtleneck

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 skein of Big Twist Value in Deep Red
  • 1 skein of Big Twist Value in White
  • 1 skein of Big Twist Value in Olive Green
  • 5.50 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

With green. 
Ch 48, sl st into first ch to make a circle.
Row 1: Ch3, 2dc in same as space ch, *skip 3 sts, 3 dc into next st, ch 1, repeat from * to end of row. Slip st into top of ch 3. (11 dc clusters) 
Tie off green. 
With red, attach yarn to a ch 1 space.
Row 2: Repeat row 1. 
Tie off red. 
With white, attach yarn to a ch 1 space.
Row 3: Repeat row 1. 
Row 4-20: Repeat rows 1-3. 
Row 21: Turn, ch 1, hdc into first 3 sts, *2 hdc in ch 1 space, hdc in next 3 sts, repeat from * to end of row, sl st into ch 1 at start of row. (55 hdc) 
Row 22-23: Ch1, hdc in each st around, sl st into ch 1.
Row 24: Ch 1, hdc in 10 sts. Turn. (10 hdc)
Row 25: Ch 1, hdc in each st to end of row. Turn. (10 hdc)
Row 26: ch 1, hdc in 10 sts, ch 8, skip 5 sts of row 23, hdc in next st, hdc in each st of row 23 until 5 sts before start of next row, ch 8, sl st into ch 1 of beginning of row. 
Row 27: ch 1, hdc in 10 sts, hdc into next 8 ch sts, hdc around to next 8 ch sts, hdc in each 8 ch sts, sl st to ch 1. 
Row 28-39: ch 1, hdc in each st around.
Tie off green yarn. 
Attach white yarn. 
Row 40: ch 1, sc in each st around.
Tie off white yarn. 
Attach red yarn.
Row 41: ch 1, sc in same space as ch 1, *skip 2 sts, 4 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st, repeat from * to end of row.
Tie off red yarn.
Sleeves: 
Attach white yarn to any st on sleeve opening.
Row 1: ch 1, sc in each st around the sleeve opening, sl st to ch 1.
Tie off white yarn.
Attach red yarn.
Row 2: ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to ch 1.
Tie off red yarn.
Attach white yarn.
Row 3: repeat row 2.
Tie off white yarn.
Attach red yarn. 
Row 4: repeat row 2.
Tie off. 
Repeat for other sleeve.
Attach white yarn to top of neckline. 
Row 1: ch 1, sc in each st and ch 1 space around, sl st to ch 1.
Tie off white yarn. 
Attach red yarn. 
Row 2: ch 1, sc in same space as ch 1, *skip 2 sts, 4 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st, repeat from * to end of row. 
Tie off red yarn. 
Weave in all ends.
