    1. Preparing Fleece for Edging:
      • Cut fleece 50"x 60"
      • Lay the fabric flat against the cutting mat and place a ruler about 1" from the edge.
      • Using the ruler as your guide, run the blade against the ruler to make the perforated cuts around all 4 edges.
      • Press down firmly.
      • Round the corner pieces off so your fabric doesn't bunch up when you crochet around it.

    2. Creating Crochet Foundation Row:
      • Start with a slip stitch in any perforated hole.
      • Sc into every perforated hole, chain one. Continue along the entire blanket edge.
      • Your edge will naturally roll.
      • Continue this pattern around entire blanket.
      • Connect with a ss.

    3. Creating Rows 1-3:
      • Starting at ss connection, chain 2, sc into blanket edge chain.
      • Skip a chain, add 2 sc in every other chain.
      • Repeat pattern all the way around the blanket edge.
      • For the corners, make 2 sc, chain 2, 2 sc in the corner space.
      • Skip a chain stitch and continue pattern.
      • Connect with a ss when the row is complete.
      • Slip stitch new yarn in any hole, repeat above pattern, changing yarn color every row.
      • Connect with a ss.
      • Bury the yarn ends.

    JOANN HACKS:

    • Using the perforated blade creates the correct amount of spacing and holes in your fabric edge.
    • You can add an additional fleece fabric piece to the back double the thickness of the blanket.
    • Sewing the edge instead letting the fabric roll on its own is another way to prepare fleece for crochet edge.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lacking part of instructions I wish the directions gave you the amount of yarn that is needed and what type of yarn is suggested.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible instructions I was excited to see this blanket photo in the advertising email I got today. Went to check out the directions, and although I'm a pretty skilled crochet/knitter, these are terrible directions. The yarn weight is not noted, and the crochet hook size is also missing. I've never heard of a perforated disc for a rotary cutter, so a brand name would have been very helpful, along with recommended hole punch size. You can surely do better than this! Very disappointed in the quality of the directions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great and clear easy to follow directions. This is actually great directions. Using a number 3 or 4 weight yarn probably works best with the recommended hook size to match the yarn that you choose. I used a medium weight yarn (4) and a 5.5 hook and it worked great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Instructions Where are the instructions for the perforated holes in the blanket? What size hook? What weight of yarn?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Where are the complete instructions??? I would love to make this cute little blanket. But....what size hook?? What weight and kind of yarn?? The instructions for the actual crochet are sketchy at best. Please rewrite the pattern so we can all go purchase the needed materials at JOANN'S and get this made for Christmas gifts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Who wrote this pattern?!?!? I would really like to make this but I’ll have to guess at how to do it…and I am an intermediate or better crocheter. The pattern doesn’t list the weight of yarn. Do you round corners after using the perforating cutter? Row 1-3 instructions indicate to stitch in chain. What? The initial row is done entirely in sc, and really the initial row is Row 1. There are no chain stitches. Have someone well-versed in crochet patterns re-do these project instructions and you might sell more project materials. This type of project instruction sets up the customer for frustration and failure .
