SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Metal patio table, 12"-16" top
- 2 Airtex, high density foam: 2"x 16", 2 pack
- 10 yds Wrights, cotton filler cord: 3/16"
- 1 yd durable fabric: 56" wide
- E6000, Industrial Strength adhesive, 2oz
- Hot glue gun/glue gun sticks
- Sewing machine
- Scissors
- Thread
DIRECTIONS:
-
All 1/2" seam allowance.
- Piping: Cut two 2"x 56" strips of fabric. Fold fabric over piping, matching cut edges, while sewing as close to filler cord as possible. Repeat.
- Side: Cut one 9"x 52".
- Top and bottom: Trace around one foam circle on WS of fabric. Remove the foam and draw a line 1/2" around the entire circle. This will create a 17" circle. Cut 2.
- Piping to the top and bottom: Line up the raw edges of the piping and the outer edge of the circle top panel. Start sewing the piping to the top 1" from the end of the piping. This end will be tucked inside the cushion cover. Cut the excess piping to 1" from the end of the stitching. Repeat with the bottom panel.
- Side panel to the top and bottom: With RST line up the raw edges of the piping and the side panel. Start stitching 1/2" from the end of the side panel. This should also line up with the start of the piping stitching. Ease around the entire circle. Sew from top to bottom of the side panel. Repeat for the bottom, lining up the seams. Leave 16" unsewn for inserting the foam. Trim all seams to 1/4". Turn RSO.
- Insert one foam cushion into the top of the case. Turn the seam to the side panel. Insert the other three cushions adjusting for a smooth stack. When inserting the final cushion hand press the seam toward the bottom circle. Place hot glue on the bottom side of the bottom foam. From the outside of the cushion cover press the fabric to the foam. This will ensure that the cushion will not shift after it is attached to the patio table. Fold the raw edges of the side panel under the foam. Hot glue to the bottom circle with piping to close the opening.
- Lay the cushion upside down and center the patio table upside down on top. Mark the location. Remove the table and place E6000 adhesive within the marks for the table. Replace the table and press to the cushion. Let dry overnight.
