Custom Cricut Classroom Sign

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Cricut Maker
  • Laptop or computer
  • Cricut chip board
  • Cricut strong grip mat
  • Masking tape
  • Assorted Colors of Cricut vinyl
  • Wood glue
  • Brown wood stain or brown paint
  • Paint brush
  • Wood sign

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Using brown stain, stain your wood board and set aside. You can also stain your wood sign by watering down brown acrylic paint. Let dry completely.
  2. Open Design Space.
  3. Insert your text. (example: MRS. JACKSON)
  4. Measure your wood sign working area. This sign is 12"x 12".
  5. Insert circle and resize 12"x 12" and send circle behind the text, this will help you size your name according to the wood sign size.
  6. Change text to Karley font name.
  7. Unlock text sizing by selecting the lock sizing icon attached to the text.
  8. Resize text MRS. to approximately 5"x 4" and JACKSON to approximately 7.8"x 4.4".
  9. Change MRS. text color to white and JACKSON to assorted colors.
  10. Before you cut, attach chip board to your strong grip mat by taping around the sides of chipboard to your mat with masking tape.
  11. Cut with your Cricut Maker, select material chipboard, and follow on-screen instructions.
  12. Change material to vinyl and cut MRS. JACKSON out of vinyl.
  13. Weed vinyl and place over cut wood letters.
  14. Attach wood letters to your stained wood sign using wood glue adhesive.
  15. Let completely dry and enjoy!

JOANN HACKS:
  • Stain wood sign first. Watered down paint can be used for a stain.
  • When cutting out wood letters, move or space out your letters farther apart from each other so the wood doesn’t crack or break.
