This ruler is designed with a diamond carbide edge that maintains the sharpness of your rotary blades as it spins. The cutting-edge with its full see-through frosted finish keeps it from sliding and enables you to see your fabric through it. It also comes with a red-hued grid system that highlights the 0.5 inches marking, using both lines to square up blocks or cut squares effortlessly.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another ruler for my stash! I purchased this from Joann approximately a year ago. I must trim the ends to square up folded flannel frequently. I have a 36" and an 18" but, as is common with sewists, my cutting table often has more things on it than just the cutting board and I don't want to drag out my 36". When the fabric is folded selvedge to selvedge this ruler is perfect for cutting across the yardage to square up the ends. I do wish the markings were more of a *neon* hot pink (Competitor's rulers have neon yellow markings) as it would make the markings easier to see. But overall I have no complaints. It is pricey, but I waited for a 50% off deal.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from WORKS GREAT I RECIEVED THE FROSTED AS A GIFT IT WORKED GREAT . SAVES ON BLADESAND KEEPS THEM IN SHARP CONDITION. JUST LIKE STEELING MY KITCHEN KNIVES. I NOW OWN A CLEAR RULER FOR DARKER FABRICS WORKS JUST AS WELL AS THE FROSTED.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money Saver! I purchased this on a whim and have found it to be the most used ruler in my tool arsenal. I use the sharpening side every so many cuts so I don't over do it. This has already saved me the cost of 6 blades. Now I need to purchase a square size.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from It does work :) It does sharpen dull blades. I love this aspect. However, I do not like the fact that the plastic is frosted. Makes lining up the fabric underneath more time consuming. Otherwise, very helpful in keeping my blades sharp.
