Great pattern when tweaked but doesn’t match the picture and is child sized!
I made the hat following the pattern. When I started with 52 rows the band was child sized so I increased it to 72 rows. The pattern on the chart is reflected in my hat but not in the original pictures hat.
Overall I liked the pattern! It makes a very thick and warm hat.
If you make this hat then I’d recommend sizing up to 72 rows as well (or however large your head is). When closing at the top I started with 10 splsc and 2splsctog, then I started the next row with 5 splsc and 2splsctog, and the remaining rows I reduced the number of splsc by 1 each row until I ended up doing one row of all 2splsctog (total of 7 rows to close up the hat). It’s a very forgiving pattern when closing at the top so don’t worry about it too much!
If I made this hat again then when I pulled over the last time in the splsc in each stitch I would switch the color for that final pull over to make the “V” shape of it pop cleaner in the rows.
Hope that helps!! Really loved this pattern and I plan on gifting the hat for Christmas ❤️❤️
