SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2yd 100% cotton denim
  • 2yds rainbow trim
  • Pattern template (download PDF under print description above)
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Download the pattern by clicking “download PDF" below Print Description on the right.
  2. Cut four of pattern out of fabric (cut two together, twice).
  3. Match pieces right sides together, and sew the outer curve using 3/8" seam allowance. Repeat with remaining two pieces.
  4. Open pieces and press both seam allowances to the right.
  5. Top stitch down the seam allowance, about 1/4" from the seam.
  6. Match front and back pieces right sides together, nesting center front seams.
  7. Pin and sew around the exterior of the mask, leaving a small opening at the bottom of the mask between the center front seam and corner.
  8. Clip across corners, taking care not to cut through the stitching.
  9. Turn mask right side out and press.
  10. Top stitch top and bottom edge of mask, closing the hole at the bottom in the process.
  11. Cut trim into two 1yd pieces. Center trim on each side. Top stitch trim, folding ends so they point outward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mask instructions No problem downloading the pattern!! I like the review that said serge sides and then add trim to reduce side bulking...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sell this as a kit using remnants I thought I could buy the kit - it would be great to sell it bundled

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Here’s an easier assembly When stitching front and back together, leave the side seams open. Turn right side out through one of the sides. Serge the side edges. Pin the trim in place and top stitched around the whole mask. The sides are less bulky this way and assembly is quicker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a safe design 1. Stitching through the curved seams over the nose to make the mask look neater creates a whole unneeded row of needle holes in the mask. 2. No filter layer 3. No flexible wire piece at the top over the bridge of the nose to get a close fit. If there are gaps unfiltered air is still entering the nose.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pic doesn't match instructions I'm reading the instructions but they don't match the picture shown as far as attaching the rainbow ties. May have to modify it to attach the ties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this pattern!! I've made many of these for my friends and family. Much easier to make than the flat ones! And in order to print the pattern...you have to download the PD.
