SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Purchased laser-cut wood butterfly box
- Wood stain
- Various Diamond Dotz®
- Diamond Dotz tool
- Diamond Dotz wax
- Dotz stick adhesive
- Small flat brush
- Pencil
- Paper for patterns
- Tape
DIRECTIONS:
- Follow manufacturer’s directions and stain box with wood stain.
- Allow to dry thoroughly.
- Cut out a paper pattern circle about 1/2" larger than the cut-out circle.
- Tape the pattern over the cut-out circle and use a pencil to lightly draw a circle on the box for the border/frame.
- Use circle patterns or templates to draw circles of various sizes onto the front of the box.
- Follow manufacturer’s directions and apply a coating of adhesive to butterfly with a small, flat brush.
- Use Diamond Dotz tools and wax to adhere Diamond Dotz to butterfly as desired - refer to photo.
- Apply adhesive to border/frame and apply Diamond Dotz.
- Continue by applying adhesive and dotz onto the circles on the front of the box, one circle at a time.
JOANN HACKS:
- Use photos as a guide for Diamond Dotz colors & design plan.
- When applying the adhesive, do not go over the drawn line, or the adhesive may show.
- Start applying Diamond Dotz to the butterfly along all of the cut edges and work towards the center.
- When applying the Diamond dots to the circles, begin by placing them along the drawn lines, this will help make an even, round circle edge. Then off-set Dotz, working toward the center.
