Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pattern, No needle. I love the pattern, but there was no needle enclosed. I went to my local JoAnn store and they didn't have one either. I wasn't thrilled to have to run around to find one during this pandemic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Colorful, but some work is involved I purchased this stocking kit because my family all have hand made stockings and we've added a daughter in law, and I wanted her to have something special too. I was looking for something with thicker threads/yarns, but this one looks like it will work out. The are more like embroidery floss. You do have to separate the 6 threads into separate threads and then put them back together to add volume. I just take three out and thread it through the needle so it is even on both sides and I have 6 strands thickness, otherwise the instructions say the strands are too long and need to be cut. It's a tiny bit complicated figuring out how to start, and where each color border stops and starts, but that's the way it goes with this type of stitching. There are three guides: the colored picture, the graphic of the picture, and the color guide. And the skeins of thread are on a color bar with the color number on them. You might need "cheaters" for the close work. Between the four guides, you can probably figure out the colors and where they go basically. I feel like it's going to turn out really cute. The colors are vivid and bright. I am satisfied with the product enough that if I do need another stocking in the future, I will probably look on JoAnn's.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be careful My expectation was a needlepoint kit using yarn, with thread for detail. No. This stocking is done in embroidery thread with yarn for the hanger. Nice finished product but took longer to complete.
