- 3-D Paint in A Tube, Brown
- Air Clay
- Acrylic Paint, Taupe
- Tan Fat Marker
- Medium Paint Brush
- 10" x 4" Camo Velvet Fabric
- Fabric glue
- Pencil
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
- Cover the child mask with fabric glue on the front and press the camo fabric on top.
- Let it dry and then trim off the excess with your scissors.
- Draw a wavy outline with your pencil, about 3" above the mask with the ends curving down towards the end of the mask.
- For the base of the shield, lightly draw the outline of the mask onto the cardstock.
- Remove the mask and then make another line 1/4" smaller just below the mask outline and a flat 1" line at the middle of this outline.
- This is the line that you will cut for the bottom of the shield part.
- Cut the shield along the wavy line for the top of the mask.
- Use your brown marker to copy the top wavy line 1/8" below the top edge.
- This is where you will do the paint beading.
- From the air clay make two little horns 3/4" square at the base and about 1" tall at the point.
- Make a horn for the middle that has a 2" circle base and come to a point about 2" tall.
- Let the horns dry before painting them.
- Apply the taupe paint to the horns in a sloppy technique to look more realistic.
- Let them dry.
- Attach the horns to the mask with your fabric glue. Draw detail line on the shield to make it look like it is curving.
- Use the 3-D paint and make small beads across the top edge of the shield.
- Let it dry.
JOANN HACKS:
