SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Aleene's Fabric & Vinyl Adhesive
  • Bench (an old bench to upcycle is perfect!)
  • Furry Fabric
  • Foam Cushion
  • Batting
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Stapler

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut your fabric, foam, and batting to size. The foam should be the exact size of the surface you wish to cover. Your fabric and batting should cover the surface and tuck under the bench about two inches.
  2. Time to glue! Make sure you are in a well ventilated area. Give yourself a nice border of adhesive around the perimeter of your bench. You will then fill in the center of your bench. A little goes a long way but be sure to be thorough! This will keep your foam in place as you continue on with the rest of the attaching.
  3. Set your foam on the top of the bench and press down to ensure it adheres. You will then add your batting and then fur. Flip the bench so that the legs are up. Make sure your batting and fabric are pulled taut and then you can secure them!
  4. Apply another layer of glue where the batting and fabric end. Press firmly and appy staples to hold fabric in place while the glue sets. Give the corners a little special attention when you fold them. If there is extra fabric while folding the corners, it may be easier to cut off the excess and then refold.
  5. Turn the bench on its feet and admire your work! You did it!!
