DIY Holiday Animal Gift Wrap

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Joann colored cardstock and/or poster board paper: white, pink, red, cream, tan, black, orange, yellow, gold, brown & red
  • Joann patterned cardstock paper (for details)
  • Double-stick tape
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Black marker
  • Gift boxes

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Polar Bear
  2. Wrap gift box in white cardstock or white poster board paper. Secure with double-stick tape.
  3. Cut two semi-circles from white cardstock for the ears, and two smaller semi-circles from pink cardstock for the inside of the ears.
  4. Cut two small black circles for the eyes.
  5. Cut a small black triangle for the nose.
  6. Cut two circles from pink cardstock for the cheeks.
  7. Cut two long semi-circles from white cardstock for the paws. Cut two circles from pink cardstock to fit inside the white paws, and 6 small circles from pink cardstock for the toes.
  8. Assemble the polar bear features as shown with glue or double-stick tape.
  9. Use a black marker to draw the mouth.
 
  1. Reindeer
  2. Wrap gift box in tan cardstock or tan poster board paper. Secure with double-stick tape.
  3. Cut two small circles from black cardstock for the eyes.
  4. Cut a circle from red cardstock for the nose
  5. Cut two antler shapes from brown cardstock.
  6. Assemble the reindeer features as shown with glue or double-stick tape.
  7. Use a black marker to draw the mouth.
 
  1. Fox
  2. Wrap gift box in red cardstock or red poster board paper. Secure with double-stick tape.
  3. Cut two small circles from black cardstock for the eyes.
  4. Cut a small oval from black cardstock for the nose.
  5. Cut two triangles from red cardstock for the ears and two smaller triangles from cream cardstock for the inside of the ears.
  6. Cut two long semicircles from cream cardstock for the side of the fox.
  7. Cut a teardrop shape from red cardstock for the tail and a rounded triangle from cream cardstock to fit the top of the tail.
  8. Assemble the fox features as shown with glue or double-stick tape.
 
  1. Penguin
  2. Wrap gift box in black cardstock or black poster board paper. Secure with double-stick tape.
  3. Cut two small circles from white cardstock and two smaller black circles from black cardstock for the inside of the eyes.
  4. Cut a small triangle from orange cardstock for the nose.
  5. Cut two large long semi-circles from white cardstock for the side of the penguin.
  6. Cut two webbed feet from orange cardstock.
  7. For the scarf, cut 3 sizes of rectangles in a patterned cardstock. Round out the corners with scissors. Tape the medium and small rounded rectangles to the largest one and cut fringes on the two hanging ends of the scarf.
  8. Assemble the penguin features as shown with glue or double-stick tape.
 
  1. Owl
  2. Wrap gift box in blue cardstock or blue poster board paper. Secure with double-stick tape.
  3. Cut two large circles from yellow cardstock for the eyes, two smaller circles from tan cardstock to fit inside the eyes, and two even smaller circles from gold cardstock to fit inside the tan circles.
  4. Cut two triangles from gold cardstock for the ears.
  5. Cut semi-circles from patterned cardstock for the feathers, enough to fit the width of the box.
  6. Cut two long semi-circles from yellow cardstock for the side feathers.
  7. Assemble the owl features as shown with glue or double-stick tape.
