Square hoop for cross stitch
Many of my cross stitch projects are rectangular in shape. Using a circular hoop is difficult as I either have to use a really large hoop so as to do the entire project without moving the hoop or I use a smaller hoop and have to keep moving it around the project. I much prefer the square hoop. I actually plan to buy square hoops of various sizes.
