Poor for embroidery
Unlike most embroidery threads, this one doesn’t split into separate sections of thread. It’s fine if you want thick, prominent lines on your project, but that’s all it’s good for. Trying to split it results in the cotton fluffing and tearing apart while you use it. Will not be buying again.

Great for crocheting!
I love crocheting with this stuff (I use a 2.25 mm hook). It is sturdy and pleasing to the touch, and makes lovely bookmarks and doilies. I haven't yet used it for anything else, but I can't recommend it highly enough!

I nearly ran out of snow white pearl cotton mid-project. Joann's price was excellent and it arrived so fast that I didn't have to put my project aside to wait for delivery. Good deal!

why is there no size 5 crochet thread with colors?
If I were a company as big as Joanns and my customers could never find what they wanted, then I would be hiring somebody to do a major overhaul on my website so I would start seeing some sales? Hey Joanns President? I need a job...hire me?
