- All quilt pieces can be cut using the Cricut Maker by loading design into the the Cricut Design Space.
- It works best to cut the fabric with the Cricut Maker using a rotary blade to prevent pulling of the fabric.
- Use the Cricut Washable Fabric Pen to mark patterns.
- Cricut fabric cutting requires a pink fabric grip mat. (Do not clean or scrape the FabricGrip mat as it will damage the adhesive)Sew a narrow hem around all four sides of the bandana fabrics then cut in half diagonally to form the bandana shape needed for each dog.
- Set sewing machine to a straight stitch with a stitch length of 1.5, a short stitch length to sew the patches together.
- Follow illustration 2 for assembling block. Note, for variety sew the patch on the face to the left or to the right.
- For Face:
- Place a K on each end of A. Sew diagonally across, trim off the excess triangle and press.
- Place B and D on H and sew across diagonally, trim and press as in previous step.
- Place B on G and sew in the same manner as above.
- Sew the two face pieces together (B/D/H and B/G) and press.
- Place a K on each end of C and sew in the same manner. Sew to the bottom of the face piece. Press.
- Sew the ears to the sides of the face. Press.
- Trim the blocks if needed.

- Fuse the noses to the face. Set the machine up for a satin stitch with a stitch width of 2.5 and stitch length about .5. Thread the top of the machine with the embroidery thread. Test sew on a scrap of fabric. Sew the noses to the faces.
- Assembling Quilt Top:
- Arrange the blocks in five rows of five blocks each. Arrange the blocks in a pleasing manner distributing the bandana fabrics and the dog fur colors throughout.
- Sew the L strips between the blocks in each of the vertical rows. Press.
- Sew the long sashing strips between the vertical rows and on the two long sides. Press. Cut off the excess length of the sashing strips.

JOANN HACKS:
- Alternate locations of the face patch for variety.
- Precutting the pieces and making stacks and labeling each stack (like piece C or piece F, etc) helps keep the pieces organized and encourages mixing colors for each dog.
