incomplete instructions
Where are the instruction for tail assembly? Not clear how much supplies need purchased since most fabrics are 72 inch wide. Been sewing 50 years, and this pattern going to put my skills to the test.

Maybe Joann's should call these "suggestions"
"Suggestions", not "directions"...SO much missing here!
Since there's so much focus on "back spine/veins" etc, a back view would have been helpful...and a hood is mentioned, but I don't see one in the picture.
Joann's sells fabric, wouldn't it have made sense to mention what fabrics were used? Lost opportunity for sales!
For the record, I have been sewing for over 50 years, so I am no novice..but these are terrible how-to directions, vague and incomplete...
I guess when Joann's tagline is "spark your creativity", they mean that LITERALLY..we'll need our imaginations to make this!

Poor, incomplete instructions
As an experienced (50+ years) sewer/crafter, these are in NO way professional instructions, and should never have been published. Even though they are free, that does not excuse Joann’s responsibility to make sure they are understandable instructions.

No pattern
I was so excited to make this. Went to the store only to find out there is no pattern. Why even promote something you can’t make????

Incomplete instructions
My son wants me to make him this costume for Halloween. I am so glad I started 2 months early because that is how long I need to figure out the instructions and make a muslin. The fabric amount is assuming that this is for a small size. Need more fabric if making M or L. The instructions were not in a sensible order, having you add seam allowances after the fabric is cut. Very hard to understand and not complete. No instructions on tail or ears. Dissatisfied, however since I have so much time to dedicate to it I will try to work it out with my own twist of course. Definitely not a weekend job even for a seasoned seamstress.

Where are the rest of the instructions?
Just about every Joann's project I've ever looked at is short on full instructions. This one is a good example. It says to use View E of a Simplicity pattern as the base. View E is a devil's cape costume! Nowhere in the Joann's instructions does it mention what type of fabrics should be used for either the cape or the horns. Also, there are NO instructions included for the ears - a very integral part of the look. The cape and mask instructions sound in parts as though they were written by a person who doesn't speak proper English - in other words, convoluted and unintelligible. I wish I wish I wish that within the next 2-3 days, Joann's would restructure the supplies list and directions: 2 of my grandchildren want me to make this costume for Halloween. And for the record, I have been sewing for 66 years, so am NOT a novice.
