DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.- See pattern for straight cut at ends of collar. Cut two satin capes, one tulle. Cut one fusible interfacing. Fuse interfacing to WS of one satin panel (outer). Tulle: remove all raised beads that land 1 1/4" from cut edges and all from the collar area. With wire cutters gently crimp the metal at the back of a bead. This should allow the prongs of the metal to slide out of the back of the bead leaving the tulle intact. Lay outer satin panel RSU. Lay tulle RSU on top matching corners. Baste close to edge. This will be the outer layer.
- RST both satin panels matching corners. Sew 1/4" SA. Leave 5" open on one side to turn. Leave both ends of collar open. Trim corners. Turn RSO. Flatten seam. Fold in 5" opening to match seam. Mark with pins 2" in from ends of collar. Topstitch 1/4" starting and stopping at 2" mark on collar.
- Add ruffle trim to collar and cape edge on tulle side of cape. Hand sew onto stitch line to keep straight.
- Cut satin ribbon, two at 2'. Turn raw edge of collar in 1/2". This should encase all raw edges of r ribbon. Blind stitch closed. Repeat.
JOANN HACKS:
- Tuck the raw ends of trim into the ends of the collar at the same time as the ruffle and ribbon ends are folded inside.
