The Dritz Plastic Bobbin Box - Clear is a useful addition to your sewing kit. This see-through plastic case holds bobbins neatly in place while allowing you to view them at a glance. It is a lightweight box, which is capable of holding 21 regular bobbins or 42 Singer 600 series plastic bobbins at a time. A bobbin box measuring 4 x 6 x 1.25 inches is included in this pack. Does the job
I love the clear plastic so I can see the colors clearly. In response to all the people who said it falls apart and the bobbins fall all around, I also had this issue until I sewed a 1/4 or 1/2" piece of elastic into a loop and slipped it over the box to keep it shut. It is not ideal but I've tried to make the best of the situation. Although when I order these online they often come cracked as they are not adequately wrapped before packing in container. They do not fare well in plastic bags, which is how my latest order arrived.

Not travel friendly
I liked this product initially because it kept all my bobbins organized and it holds a decent amount. The case, however, does not latch in any way so it's difficult to store in my rolling tote along with my sewing machine without anything spilling. It's a bigger pain when I knock the box over accidentally. Sometimes the case won't open at all and will again, cause bobbins to spill out once the lid releases. Wish there was a way to fix this with a hinge or magnets, but there's not enough space. The spaces are a bit big, allowing the bobbins to spin around easily, so threads will tangle occasionally, especially if you travel with it like I do.

Perfect for me - love that the top is separate
I love these bobbin boxes, this is a re-purchase because I wanted one more. My sewing table has a shallow drawer (it's really a desk) and these first perfectly. I love that the top is a separate piece, they fit perfectly under the bottom and can also be used as a separate little tray. I like just pulling open the drawer and seeing all the bobbin colors and just grabbing one, no messing with a latching top or a case stored somewhere else. The plastic is very clear so you can see the thread colors easily if you do keep the top on. Some reviewers complained about the separate top - I think the tops are snug enough if you keep them closed, but if I traveled with them I guess the technical solution would be a rubber band!

Space Efficient, Easy Storing Multiple Boxes
This is a repeat purchase. I like the size and shape of the boxes. They are easy to store and stack. Their space efficiency makes them a better choice for me than the bobbin rings/wheels. Yes, when you put the bobbins in the box, you have to tend to the threads ends so they aren't all over the place but that's no big deal in my book. I took 1 star off because of the lid. I would probably prefer something tighter but the ones with a catch & hinges are less space efficient. I'm going to add some tape around the inside of the lid which will help it fit more snugly. I use them in my travel case, by my sewing machine for garment thread and a secondo ne for quilt thread. These are purchased for the few times I need to wind my own bobbins for my new long arm.

Poor quality/function
The quality is poor. There is no means to keep the lid closed and thread ends can get tangled with other ends. I solved the lid issue by using a piece of 3/4" wide Scotch Re-closable Velcro fasteners-a small strip applied to the opening side of box just under the lid lip, a small strip applied to the top edge of the box (in alignment with the piece under the lip), and then a 2" long strip to meet the top strip and side strip. The bobbin boxes won't stack properly with the Velcro fix however the lid will stay closed and opening/closing is easy. Haven't found an acceptable substitute for this box. Recommend with reservation.

Dritz quality has suffered--made in china
I bought one of these boxes in 2004 and like it a lot, so I ordered another one recently. But the quality has gone down since then--the one I just got is made of different plastic, the inside corners are different, and the lid does not work as well as my old one. It comes off with difficulty, so you risk spilling all your bobbins. Not worth the price of shipping back, but very annoying.

Good, but could be better
I have two of these. One for my bobbins for drop-in bobbin case and one for my removable case bobbins. I love that you can see through it and that it keeps the bobbins from unwinding. But, the lid could be better. I can't tell you how many times I have accidently knocked these over and spilled out all the bobbins. The lid just flies right off. It needs to be latched in some way.
