Don't buy
The gun works fine, but you better be able to pull that lever with some strength. The staples are impossible to find. Impossible. The stores don't seem to understand they need to support a product; I can't know for sure if the staples they offer on-line are the right length and if they will jam the gun.
This gun was an investment for me. Now, its just a paperweight.

Lies
These staples do not work with the Dritz heavy duty gun. They are just not the right size. I will never buy dritz anything again if I can avoid it since they seem to make such terrible products.

Great gun hard to find staples
I purchased this gun to recover 8 parsons chairs. Love it! But when I ran out of staples the trouble began. 7/16 14mm staples are extreamly difficult to find. I had to travel 46 minutes to the nearest Joanns just to get staples as no-one else carried them. I even checked out all hardware and Lowes and Home Depot stores. This is why I did not give it a 5 and Joanns doesn't even carry the Dritz brand staples.

I noticed on the bottom...
mine is stamped "4-14mm". So it should work with anything in this (height) range. It uses light-duty (JT-21 type or equiv.) staples even though it's heavy-duty in construction. I would think this type of staple should be good enough for most projects. The new packaging (at JoAnn stores) for this stapler does mention the different sizes(1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 9/16") in addition to the 7/16".

BIG disadvantage
The staple gun itself, is a wonderful item. However, of what use is a wonderful item if it cannot be used. Finding staples to fit it is impossible. JoAnn's does not carry them -- at least my local JoAnn's does not. Ordering them on-line is not at all convenient. I will have to put this staple gun away and buy another one that has staples available. Unfortunately, this was a waste of my money, no matter how well it works. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing.

Great quality but impossilbe to find refills
This staple gun is sturdy, strong, and easy to use. I had never used a staple gun before, but had no problems using it. However, the only length staples they have in the Jo-Ann stores and online is 7/16". It's too long and I can't find shorter anywhere! This is a huge shortcoming.
