  • SMILEY FACES SVG Click Here
    1. Open a new canvas and upload the svg onto the canvas.
    2. Scale the smiley art to fit the size of your shoe.
    3. Cut the files onto vinyl.
    4. Set these aside.
    5. Place the sneakers on a working surface covered with plastic.
    6. Place a crumble up microfiber cloth on top of each sneaker. Place ice cubes on top of the microfiber cloth.
    7. As they melt, they will stick to the cloth. Pile the ice on top of the cloths.
    8. Sprinkle the powdered dyes on top of the ice and let the sneakers sit for at least 5 hours.
    9. As the ice melts, the dye will saturate the sneakers at different rates, making that wavy texture.
    10. When they are done dyeing, rinse them with cold water to remove any extra dye. Let the sneakers dry overnight.
    11. Mask out the tips of the sneakers, covering all the cloth area and the white trim on the sides of the sneakers leaving only the tips exposed. In a well-ventilated area, spray the tips with the teal spray paint.
    12. You will have to apply 2-3 coats of spray paint.
    13. Let it dry overnight to harden the surface. Place the smiley outlines onto the tips of the sneakers.
    14. With an x-acto knife place the eyes and mouth onto the smiley face.
    15. Now mask out the entire teal areas, except the smiley face.
    16. Spray paint 2-3 coats of the pink spray to create the faces. Let them dry and then remove all masking tape and adhesive vinyl.

    JOANN HACKS:

    • If you have any overspray on the tips of the sneakers, you can clean off the top recent layer with a cotton swap and mineral spirits or nail polish remover. Do not press hard and only try one or two swipes with the remover so that you don't remove the teal layer underneath.
