SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- White or off-white curtains
- Fabric dye
- Trim
- Basic sewing supplies or fabric glue
DIRECTIONS:
- Dye curtains following instructions included with the dye. Use an all-purpose dye for curtains made from natural fibers and a dye formulated for synthetic fibers for curtains containing polyester or acrylic. Use enough dye and water for the amount of fabric in the curtains. You may need to dye each panel separately, so that the dye is applied evenly.
- Once panels have been dyed and dried, place the trim tape on the front or back side of the curtains depending on what look you are going for. Pin trim into place prior to applying.
- Apply trim using fabric glue, hand stitching, or by sewing machine.
JOANN HACKS:
- Make sure the trim is not stretched out as it's being applied, or the edge of the curtains may be distorted.
