DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cover table with plastic and gather your supplies.

  3. FOR SYNTHETIC FABRICS
  4. Fill a large stainless-steel pot with 3 gallons of water.
  5. Cover pot and heat until almost boiling. Water temperature should ideally be 200°.
  6. When water begins to simmer, add 1/2 cup Rit DyeMore in Super Pink. Shake bottle before pouring. Stir well.
  7. Add 1 teaspoon of dish detergent to help promote level dyeing.
  8. Test dye color by dipping paper towel in the dyebath. If color is too light, add more dye; if color is too dark, add more water.
  9. Wearing rubber gloves, use the metal tongs to lower the clothing and earrings into the dyebath. The first 10 minutes are the most critical. Stirring helps to ensure an even color with no splotches.
  10. When desired color is achieved, remove from dyebath. Fabric will look darker when wet and will dry lighter. Squeeze out excess dye.
  11. Rinse in cool water until the water runs clear.
  12. Wash in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse and dry.
  13. Once dry, add pink boa and secure to fabric with safety pins

  14. FOR COTTON AND BLENDS WITH LESS THAN 35% POLYESTER
  15. Fill a large plastic container with 3 gallons of hot water. Water temperature should ideally be 140°. Add 1 teaspoon of dish detergent to help promote level dyeing.
  16. Wearing rubber gloves, add 1/2 bottle of well-shaken Rit All-Purpose Fuchsia dye. Stir well.
  17. Test dye color by dipping paper towel in the dyebath. If color is too light, add more dye; if color is too dark, add more water.
  18. Wearing rubber gloves, submerge the clothing and earrings. Stir slowly and continuously. The first 10 minutes are the most critical. Stirring helps to ensure an even color with no splotches.
  19. When desired color is achieved, remove from dyebath. Fabric will look darker when wet and will dry lighter. Squeeze out excess dye.
  20. We recommend using Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative immediately after dyeing and before washing to enhance color, increase color retention and prevent dye from bleeding into white areas. Follow package instructions.
  21. Rinse in cool water until the water runs clear.
  22. Wash in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse and dry.
  23. Once dry, add pink boa and secure to fabric with safety pins.
