I took a while exploring this microscope with my husband and 9 year old before writing this review. Overall, I feel that it is a very good price to pay for the set and it is a good one for beginners! It comes with a lot of neat accessories and we have enjoyed tinkering with it. Lots of learning to come with this.

He loved how it came with all the specimen bottles so he could collect his own things. It was also great that it came with some pre-made slides, so he could try it out right away. This kit definitely comes with a lot of pieces, so it's for older kids. The only downside is, like many microscopes, it was quite difficult to dial in and see what was on the slides initially, but once we got it figured out, it was great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it We loved this set. I was given this item for my honest opinion and I think it is great. In the booklet it gives you a few ideas for creating some of your own slides which is great. But a couple of the tools are pointless they could have subed in the dye that they talk about in the book and the adhesive to make permanent slides instead. Other than that it works great. And we have a great time finding new things to look at using this microscope.

It comes With a few prepared slides, then additional slides so you can create your own. Had a small issue with the light staying on, but overall a nice beginning microscope!
