It's really easy to use and I had a lot of fun experimenting with it. Although, it's hard to see bacteria. The only issue I have with this is that I'm missing the pipette, petri dish, and stirring rod when I got the microscope.

My daughter and my son (aged 8 and 6) have found it fasinating and it has prompted lots of questions and discussions. It is a great educational tool to have in the house and it is a great acivity to do together as a family. We will be using this for a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great First Microscope My daughter has enjoyed using the GeoSafari MicroPro. She was eager to use it immediately, and I had to slow her down, so we could read the directions and discuss the care and use of the lens, slides and instruments. She did have difficulty focusing the lens initially, but finally got the adjustment correct and was excited to see the specimens on the prepared slides. The kit comes with 12 blank slides and she is eager to make her own. This microscope will be invaluable not only for her every day studies, but also for her annual science fair school project.

I did have issues focusing at first and it was beyond the frustration level of many of my students. This is not really a toy that can be handed to a child to use. They will need assistance and guidance with using it.

The biggest con we found was a lack of clear instructions and even my ten year old needed a nice amount of adult assistance to use it. Once we figured it out, my children of various ages 3-10 all enjoy using it and find it fascinating to look at the different slides. The older bunch loved creating their own slides. I recommend, especially for this price. I received this product in exchange for my honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and entertaining My family and I had a great time playing and learning with this microscope. We did not have anything like this, so I had to read through the manual since its been a long, long time since I've been in a science class. The MicroPro requires 2 AA batteries (not included) to work with the led light that's used to see th specimen. There are 2 eyepieces, plenty of slides to collect and view objects, and an assortment of tools to handle your items. The microscope is one sturdy, high quality piece. There are 3 slides pre loaded with specimens, which made it easy to use right out of the box. This microscope has kept our family intrigued and entertained as we continue to find new things we want to look at and examine. Great product!
