I love that it is an opportunity to learn a lesson in nature. They are able to learn to plant and care for their palnts. The terrarium is well made and the directions are simple and complete. I think this would be a great gift.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got the chance to try the Faber-Castell - Tropical Terrarium and it appears to be very nice. It looks nice and comes with everything needed to get started growing. The kit is very easy to understand and set up. My eight year old did it with no trouble. It is a great learning experience for little ones, and he is very excited. We have not made it to the point that we see any growth, but his hopes are high. I would highly recommend this to anyone with little ones who enjoy the outdoors and learning about the environment.

High quality and compact too

While it indicates that it is for ages 7 and up, my grandson thoroughly enjoyed helping put this together and has to look at it first thing when he wakes up to see how much the plants grew from the day before. He is only 18 months but is enjoying this. The plants have taken nicely and it is very easy to maintain.

Rainy day Fun

My daughter had fun assembling her Tropical Terrarium and making adjustments to fit her personality. A great way to escape the same old day to day boring activities. The kit includes everything needed to create a fun little garden. The pink flamingo is absolutely the cutest little thing. Watered the seeds with the included dropper and are now just waiting for the little sprouts to peek through.

Fun and pretty!

They loved putting the tape and stickers on and putting all the layers of sand and stones in. The directions are easy to follow and we are excited for our plants to bloom. On the off chance they don't, there are extra seeds that come with the kit.

The instructions are easy too read and it really wasn't that hard to put all the stuff in its place. I helped with this, as it did seem like fun - hint if you like doing DIY projects then get two. Fun craft!

Fun project!

Easy project that she could pretty much do by herself with some guidance. She is having so much fun watering the seeds and watching them sprout! She looks forward to seeing the progress each day, and watering it has become part of her morning routine. Good quality materials, easy instructions.

The age is very appropriate for the project. You have to help a bit but honestly not much. I would highly recommend this product.
