Fabric Basket

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 1 1/2 yds of home dec fabric for basket exterior
• 1 1/2 yds of fabric for basket liner
• Simplicity Pattern #1214
• Interfacing

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut the following basket pieces from paper patterns:
2. Front and Back (1 of basket exterior fabric, 1 of liner)
3. bottom (1 of basket exterior fabric, 1 of liner)
4. straps (2 of basket exterior fabric)
5. Sew the center back seam of the front and back piece of the exterior fabric.
6. Sew the bottom piece to the front and back piece.
7. Apply interfacing to the liner pieces of fabric (front and back, bottom)
8. Sew the liner pieces together, similar to the exterior pieces, leaving an opening on the front and back piece to turn right side out (at a later time).
9. Pin handles to exterior basket pieces.
10. With right sides together, pin the exterior and liner pieces together. Stitch around the top of the basket to join sections.
11. Turn right side out.
12. Topstitch around the top of the basket.
13. Hand stitch the lining opening used to turn the basket right side out.
