Fabric Bunting (13 feet)

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Fat quarters (18" x 20")- 8 coordinating fabrics
  • 1/2 yd - for bias strip for hanging pennants
  • 2 yds - fusible interfacing
  • Cutting mat, rotary cutter
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut 26 pairs of triangles 6 1/2" x 8 1/2".

  2. Cut 26 triangles from interfacing.

  3. Sew interfacing to one of each triangles per set.

  4. With RST, sew triangles together leaving opening at top for turning.

  5. Turn and press.

  6. Cut 5 - 2 1/4" strips to make bias strip.

  7. Sew these strips together at short ends.

  8. Press strip in half lengthwise.

  9. Fold both edges into center and press.

  10. Find the center of the bias strip and pin one triangle in the fold of strip.

  11. Space the remaining triangles in place, alternating colors as you go.

  12. Starting at one end of the strip, sew close to edge of bias strip. Continue through the entire bunting to end.

  13. Cut the extra ends to desired length.

  14. Tie a knot at each end of strip.
