- BASIC SEWING FOR ALL BAGS:
- HANDLES: With RST, stitch a 1/2" seam on each side. Turn and press. Edge stitch on both sides of handle. Set aside.
- BAG: Place main fabric RST and sew bottom seam.
- Turn and press. For the Dog bag, measure up from bottom seam 3" and place pin through all layers, repeat on opposite side. For all other bags, measure up 1 1/2" from bottom and pin.
- Fold fabric with RST folding it up from pin marking and having top of bag even. Press to keep folds in place, (should look like accordion). Pin and sew side seams leaving top open.
- Turn and work out bottom fold. Press top under 1".
- For Lining: With RST, sew sides and bottom seam. Fold bottom seam to side seam forming a triangle. Measure from point 1 1/2" and draw a line across. Should be about 3" line. For dog print measure from point 3" and draw a line across, this should be about 6" line. Sew along line, trim off point. Fold top to wrong side 1" and press.
- Place lining inside bag, WST, and pin in place.
- Mark center of top of bag, insert handles where you feel looks good. About 2" to 3" from center on each side.
- Sew 1/4" from folded edges of top of bag making sure you are sewing through the handles.

I cannot understand how this bag goes together with these instructions and looks like the picture. The finishing doesn't seem detailed enough either. I am not a beginner seamtress and I have made bags before so I am at a loss with this pattern. I'm sad because I wanted to make lots of these but just can't get how they want me to construct the first one. very upsetting!
