SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • Assorted large wooden natural beads
  • Assorted cotton fabrics - colors of your choice
  • Jute
  • Fabric Fusion glue
  • 1 Bag of assorted natural wooden beads
  • Scissors
  • Wooden skewer

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cut strips of the fabric to be 1/4" inch wider than the bead on each side and long enough to wrap the width of the bead.
  2. Put glue completely around the middle of the bead.
  3. Wrap the bead with the fabric leaving the ends open.
  4. Use your scissors to snip around the exposed fabric at the ends.
  5. Apply glue to the ends of the fabric and tuck into the bead opening with the wooden skewer.
  6. The glue will start to attach the fabric to the bead as it starts to become tacky.
  7. Make each bead and set aside to completely dry.
  8. Take the jute and measure out a strand as long as you need it to be.
  9. You can make tassels on the ends of the strand. Make the tassel first and then tie it onto the ends of the strand. String the beads onto the jute and add wooden beads in between the fabric wrapped beads to break up the look of the strand.

JOANN HACKS:
  • You can use the skewer to open up the ends of the beads if the fabric is in the way of stringing the beads onto the jute.
